rECOGNIZING OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY

We Are Enactus Sheridan

Recognizing opportunity to provide opportunity

Our Vision

Student leaders transforming communities one project at a time

Our Mission

Enactus Sheridan is a student-driven organization providing opportunities to future leaders through project initiatives. We accomplish this by identifying social, economic and environmental gaps that students bridge through social entrepreneurial action

Our Projects

Project L.I.F.E.

Literacy in Financial Education, is a module and workshop-based program that covers the topics of budgeting, taxation, and credit & debt. Our workshops have been specifically designed for high school students, catering to their need,s spending habits, and goals. We believe that through financial education in our “for students, by students” model, we can build a better financial future together. This past year, we delivered our budgeting workshop to over 270 high school students. This summer, we will create two new modules (taxation and credit & debt) and continue working towards our partnership with TD Bank. This upcoming year, we will be creating a schedule to deliver our workshops as our network of high schools has grown from 2 to 6.

Project Young Women in Business Day

Through a collaboration with Girl Guides of Canada, we have designed a day of interactive, hands-on, informative and engaging learning for the girls. The workshops have been structured around the different age groups (Brownies age 7-9, Guides age 9-12, Pathfinders age 13-15, and Rangers age 16-17), with the intention of bringing awareness to the different roles of women in business. The girls, through these workshops, have a chance to design marketing campaigns, learn about personal and business finance and accounting; the importance of Human Resources, be introduced to Occupational Health and Safety, and business communication. This past year, 150 girl guides came to HMC to participate in our YWIB day event. This summer, we are exploring ideas of how to expand our reach and broaden outside of a one-day event. This upcoming year, we are scheduled to enter two more elementary and middle schools to provide workshops for young women and introducing them to the world of business.

  • Every crisis creates opportunity, every struggle offers the chance to rediscover. Everything we do is born from the ability to see potential where others can’t.

  • Meaningful change is not easy. It requires the ability to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles and face often daunting challenges. We have the persistence to do whatever it takes to achieve the results we seek.

  • Every initiative or project we undertake will be judged by the only measure that matters: how effectively we create lasting and meaningful progress in the lives of those we serve.

  • The willingness to try, fail and learn on the journey toward creating something new is just as critical as the passion to succeed. There is no substitute for being willing to lead, especially when the outcome is uncertain.
